Piano Theory Wheel. Concept and design. The Circle of Fifths; the I, IV, and V chord structures; and other difficult aspects of piano theory are tough to learn because students can't easily see on the linear keyboard the relationships of intervals. On this wheel, the colored elements — representing major intervals and highlighting the root (orange with white spot), minor third (green), major third and major fifth — sit on a rotating transparency layer over the black.
